Biography:

Nick Trost is 19 years old and was born in Seattle, WA where he now resides. Nick is a sophomore at the University of Washington and is double majoring in Journalism and Spanish while in the honors program. He works in the Husky Athletic Department while going to school. On his free time Nick is an avid golfer and currently carries a 9 handicap. He also loves to ride bikes and play videogames. Nick grew up in a family that loves sports. So it comes as no surprise that he loves to play and watch them. Nick loves to watch and listen to MLB, especially during the pennant races. A surprise to most people is that Nick is a twin. His brother is named Jaren and they look almost identical. Nick has two wonderful parents by the name of Greg and Sara as well as a dog named Sandy. He loves to cook as well as listen to Matchbox 20 on his Ipod. Nick is an avid worker and very passionate about the field of Broadcast Journalism. Enjoy getting to know him through the website!

  • Currently the Internet radio broadcaster of men and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball and baseball for GoHuskies.com, the official web site for the University of Washington’s 23 varsity sports.
  • Contributing feature writer of GoHuskies.com and the University of Washington football and basketball game day programs.
  • Member of official stats crew at Husky football games.
  • Post-game interviewer of visiting football coaches and players.
  • Member of Washington’s multimedia team, streaming live video of sporting events, press conferences and interviews.

KRQE NEWS 13 (Summer 2007)

Interned in the sports department. Shot video, edited tape, and wrote scripts for the sports director. Learned all aspects of the newsroom and interviewing techniques. Made a tape and shot live standups.

ESPNU (December 9th, 2006)

Assisted production of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Regional: Assisted the Producers in the television truck.

ESPN (November 6 and 27, 2006)

Assisted Tony Kornheiser, Mike Tirico, and Joe Theismann during the Monday Night Football telecast of the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders game as well as the November 27th game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers.

Fox Sports Net (FSN) (June 7, 2006)

Assisted veteran broadcaster Randy Rosenbloom at the Playstation High School All-American baseball game in Albuquerque, N.M. Spotter and retrieved information for broadcast.
